Do I need to deal with Irish customs?

It’s your responsibility to ensure your parcel’s contents are allowed into any country you send to – not doing so may result in extra charges, the parcel being returned or possibly destroyed. The best way to avoid this is to ensure you don’t send anything on the restricted or prohibited list. You should also take care to package the parcel carefully.

Don’t worry if this sounds tricky, we’ll help by automatically generating any documents you need from the information you provide on the booking form.

Depending on the item(s), import charges may also be payable by the recipient - these comprise of Customs Duty, Excise Duty and VAT. Occasionally Anti-Dumping Duty and/or Countervailing Duty are also imposed on certain items. A revenue guide to importing goods through the post will help you further.
